Status Report
As of yesterday's appointment:
  • 90% effaced
  • 4 cm dilated
  • Procedures performed: membranes "swept" or "stripped"
  • Contractions? Occasional braxton hicks, nothing real and/or painful
  • Labor signs? Some, not many though...
  • Doctors comments: induction next Thursdayish, if nothing happens by then. But she thinks we probably won't make it that far. Hoping she's right.
  • Mood: somewhat optimistic, excited, rather bored. Ready!
Moving on to something more interesting.....diaper bags! After much searching, debating, and one return, here is what I have. Love it! It is a handmade bag by a local artist, Rebecca Senechal, of Persnickity Designs. She sells her bags at Pike Place Market here in Seattle, among other places, and does diaper bags on special order. I got to pick out the colors & pattern, and she had it to me in less than 2 weeks! It is the same style as her "passenger" bags, but with an added washable/wipable nylon liner, tons of interior and exterior pockets, and a matching changing pad. Its now stocked and ready to go, with room to spare!

That is great news! 4cm dialated already. I am thinking you are going to have an uncomplicated delivery. Yipee! That bag is so nice! Thanks for keeping us updated. I check all the time to see if you have left for the hospital yet. :)

4 cm, yes, I feel assure it won't be much longer. Love your diaper bag too btw, it's very stylish. Good choice, love the colors. Hope Emma decides to pay us a visit soon.

Congratulations to little Emma Rae and her parents! (Grandma Elena shared the news this morning on our walk.) Sounds like it was a long and exhausting process but we hope you are all beginning to recover somewhat, and we trust Emma and Mom are both doing well on this first day together. We are excited to see pictures soon. Lots of love and good wishes to all.
